Tutorial - How to Exclude Certain File Types from Extraction?
Introduction
Some file formats are not safe to extract, like EXE, BAT, CMD, LNK, etc. They may contain virus and malware and may lead to some harmful operations on your computer. Meanwhile, you may just need some certain types of files in an archive and want to exclude others for faster extraction. Free RAR Extractor Elite provides a list to prohibit certain formats being extracted. You can edit the exclusion list to remove listed formats or add new ones.
Exclude Certain File Types from Extraction
In "Prohibited File Type" area of "Advanced" tab, you can
see the option "File types to exclude from extraction". By checking
it you can enable the exclusion list, which contain some formats
that will not be extracted by default (*.exe;*.com;*.pif;*.scr;*.bat;*.cmd;*.lnk).You can remove any listed one if you want that type of files extracted; or you can add new ones to the list by adding ";*.(file extension)"to the end, e.g.,";*jpg;*avi".
